Hertford Arts Hub is a new not-for-profit arts organisation, set up in 2016, with support from Hertford Town Council, East Herts District Council and the University of Hertfordshire to develop a new centre for visual art in Hertford.
The organisation has developed concept plans to convert the Old Hertford Brewery and Old British School into a high-quality public gallery. These sites will enhance Hertford’s facilities for artists and other creative practitioners, build Hertford’s reputation as a regional cultural centre and contribute to the culturally led regeneration of the town. Its mission, ‘To celebrate Hertfordshire’s creative heritage, support contemporary creative practice and learning and encourage cultural tourism to the county’, will be delivered through a programme of exhibitions and learning opportunities that build on the heritage and legacy of Alan Davie.
